Margaret Daniels Trophy 2017

What an amazing weekend - 134 playing golf.  A record for us.  The sun shone and conditions were perfect - some of the golf less so!

The results are available here.

AGM Weekend 2017

We had a great weekend of golf - and the sun shone all weekend.  We were so lucky as the following days we were subjected to torrential rain and gale force winds making golf unplayable.

Murcia Matchplay League

2017-2018 Season

November Game:  HRGS vs San Javier G.S.

Games: Won – 4, Halved –  0, Lost – 0.

Match: Overall Win

League points: 9 – 0   (8 plus 1 bonus point)

Match Report:

HRGS continued their great winning start to the season with our first clean sweep match victory ever in the Murcia Matchplay League.

On a very windy Saurines course, we comprehensively won this MML match against San Javier G.S. We won our match by wins in all four of our games. This netted us the maximum eight league points plus with the additional one bonus point for a clean sweep, we totaled  nine league points. Our best ever return! Well done to all!

Three of the games were comprehensive wins which were won well before the eighteenth hole, but a fighting win by one pair, who had ding-dong match with their opponents, went to the eighteenth hole before victory was finally secured!

This month we had a number of our regular longer-term visiting team players from past seasons available, plus a number of our regular short-term visitors also available. This gave us the luxury of being able to turn out an ‘A-team’ of our lower handicappers. This gave many of higher handicapper team players, who have stood in and performed so well in the first few fixtures, a deserved rest. You will be needed again!
